The Franklins at Home, Documentary Family Photography in Portland

My story isn't sweet and harmonious, like invented stories.

It taste of folly and bewilderment, of madness and dream,

like the life of all people who no longer want to lie to themselves.

-Hermann Hesse

The busyness of home filled with kids ranging from toddler to tween is like that of no other. There is always at least fifteen different things going on at any given moment. It is a whirlwind of activities and dramas,  of love and comfort, of messes and creations.

On this sunny, yet chilly, winter day the Franklin house was filled with making snowflakes & paper airplanes, baking cookies & donuts, and taking a trip to the local school yard to play- where despite the near freezing temps, jackets were shed immediately in anticipation of how hot they would be from running around.

It was chaos in the best way possible. In that way that only family can be- noisy and messy and full of love.
