Five on Five: October

This is my second month participating in this 5 on 5 blog circle. I'm finding it nice to be a part of because, as you may have noticed, I am pretty shit at blogging. BUT I am at least decently good at doing things where are other people are holding me responsible (like my participation in Sham of the Perfect or Photographers of Portland). I don't want to let other people down if we have agreed upon something as a group... however, I am all too good at pushing my own shit farther down the to-do list (hence my blog post list is growing ever longer- I have sessions from last March that are still waiting to for their turn on the old blog, whoops!).

Anywho, so, yeah, group projects are good for me. This one is a nice change of pace from my other personal project with Sham of the Perfect as there I am picking ONE image each week, which is a very different activity than creating a story with five images. It is a different way of shooting and selecting images.

This month my five images are from our family's outing to The Women's Forum in the Gorge. We went on to hike the Bridal Veil Falls area, which, btw, is a great hike for little kids. There was no way I was going to be able to fit that whole excursion into 5 images, so I went smaller (which made be think back to high school and reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintance and falling into a gumption trap and just focusing on one single solitary brick to jump start your brain and I'm rambling annnnd anyway...) I went with telling the story of us at the look out point of The Women's Forum.

This month I am linking up to Melissa of Melissa Kayser Photography. Go check out her post and follow the whole circle until you get back to me! I'll put her link at the end of the post too, so you don't have to scroll back up.

Okay, you've seen my five images now on to Melissa!
